We love
teaching Greek.
And it shows in every single lesson.Oh My Sweet Greece started with a simple but powerful idea: what if learning Greek felt warm, personal, and genuinely enjoyable? We are a small, dedicated team of three native Greek teachers — all graduates of the Department of Greek Philology of Athens University — who believe language is not just grammar — it's feeling, culture, and connection. Everything we do is designed to help you think and feel in Greek.
2017
Born from Lydia's passion for the Greek language
It all started with a simple decision: to teach Greek online, one student at a time. From the very first lessons, it was clear that something special was happening — real connections, real progress, and a genuine love for the language on both sides of the screen.
A few years later, what began as online private lessons grew into something more: group courses, a physical classroom in Kifisia, and a small but dedicated team of teachers who share the same belief — that learning Greek should feel warm, personal, and deeply human.
Today, Oh My Sweet Greece offers private lessons online and in-person, group courses, Greek cultural experiences, and our own coursebook series — all shaped by years of listening carefully to what our students actually need.
Meet the team behind your lessons
Three Athenians with a shared obsession: making Greek click for everyone.
Lydia has been teaching Greek for about 12 years and is the author of the My Sweet Greece coursebook series. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an M.A. in Analysis and Teaching Methods of First and Second/Foreign Language (2022) from the University of the Aegean, and a Diploma in Materials Development for Language Education (2020) from N.I.L.E. Her lessons blend structure with warmth — and make even complex grammar feel clear and approachable.
Katerina Kotsaki holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is currently completing her M.A. in Modern Greek Literature (expected 2026). She creates calm, well-structured lessons that build confidence and steady progress through real-life Greek communication.
Katerina Kondyli holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s Degree in Theory, Praxis & Evaluation of Educational Work (2025). Her teaching is thoughtful and results-driven, helping students improve accuracy, fluency, and confidence step by step.
Our teaching philosophy
Six principles that shape every lesson we give.
Every lesson is built around you — your goals, your pace, your reasons for learning Greek. No two learners are the same, so neither are our lessons.
Grammar matters, but we teach it in context. From lesson one, you speak Greek — and that's how the language actually stays with you.
Language and culture are inseparable. We bring in Greek music, food, literature and life so you understand not just the words but the world behind them.
We've spent years developing our own teaching resources — including the My Sweet Greece coursebook — because off-the-shelf simply wasn't good enough.
We tell you what's working and what needs attention, gently but clearly. Progress you can actually see is the best motivation to keep going.
We genuinely love what we do — and we believe that joy is contagious. Learning Greek should feel like a pleasure, not a chore.
